Mr. Robert J. O’Brien, Retired CPD Lt., passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on March 14, 2021. Robert was born June 25, 1935 to Richard and Catherine O’Brien.. He was a Chicago Police Officer for 30 plus years. He had three brothers and two sisters. All have passed before him except his baby sister Betty Ann. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ellen (Eileen) 18 years ago, and his son Martin. Bob is survived by his 5 children Debbie, Barb, Therese, Dan, and LuAnne. He also had 15 grandchildren and 16 Great grandchildren. He was uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a very special friend Betty Husson and a wonderful friend and loving caregiver Nancy Gonzalez. Bob was a very special man. He was always there for his family supporting them in whatever they needed. There was no place that he wanted to be more than his home in Naples, FL. Everyday he would wake up and say I Love It Here. He truly did. Those that knew Bob knew how he loved a good party, dancing, and making everyone laugh at all of his jokes. Well I hope he is entertaining everyone on this new journey.
