Warren William Fasone, 86, (Retired CPD Lt.) of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on July 4, 2026.

A life dedicated to service, integrity, and family, Warren leaves behind a remarkable legacy that will be remembered by all who knew him.

Born on October 14, 1939 to Joseph and Violet (Harder) Fasone, Warren proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Gelnhausen, Germany during the Berlin Crisis. While serving in the infantry, he earned a field promotion to the rank of Sergeant in recognition of his exceptional leadership.

Following his military service, Warren embarked on a distinguished 32-year career with the Chicago Police Department, beginning in 1964. Throughout his career, he faithfully served the citizens of Chicago in a variety of leadership roles. His dedication to public safety, mentorship, and community policing earned him numerous commendations, honorable mentions, letters of appreciation, certificates of achievement, and the Chicago Police Department’s Special Service Award.

Never one to stop serving, Warren continued his commitment to public safety after retiring from the Chicago Police Department in 1996. He served as Director of Security for the Ports of Indiana until his retirement in 2018, concluding a career of more than five decades in public service.

Warren earned an Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement from Loop City Junior College, a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Law Enforcement from Chicago State University, and completed numerous executive leadership programs, including Northwestern University’s prestigious School of Police Staff and Command.

Although he was immensely proud of his career, Warren’s greatest source of pride was his family. He was the beloved husband of Debora (Buis) Fasone and a devoted father to Aimee Fasone Forster, Kara Fasone, Danielle Fasone, and Warren (Paige) Fasone. One of Warren’s greatest blessings came in the final weeks of his life with the birth of his first grandchild, Gemma Grace Fasone.

Outside of work, Warren enjoyed traveling, especially to Mexico, tending his garden, cooking for family and friends, and working crossword puzzles. He was also well known for his wonderfully corny sense of humor, never missing an opportunity to share one of his trademark “dad jokes” and bring a smile to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Peter Fasone.

Warren will be remembered for his unwavering integrity, steadfast leadership, generous heart, and quiet strength. His dedication to his country, his community, and his family serves as an enduring example of a life well lived. His memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Friends may visit with the family at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, located at 613 Washington St., Michigan City, IN on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Jamie Constant, officiating.
