The Lieutenants Association is aware that the Department has yet again, with no notice, decided to arbitrarily cancel all full duty Lieutenants’ 1st RDO 17/18/19-May-22, in Areas Two, Three and Four for the “Tiered Deployment.” These RDO cancellations are in addition to the Department’s upcoming cancellations for the Memorial Day and Father Day weekends. Lieutenants working in the affected Areas in DOGs 65, 66, 61 and 71, 72, 73, who are told they are being involuntarily compelled to work are encouraged to submit a To/From subject report through their chain of command requesting that their RDOs be acknowledged by the Department. If the Lieutenant is still forced to work then a grievance should be filed. The Lieutenants Association and other police unions currently have another pending grievance before an arbitrator with regard to the last time the Department conducted similar actions against Lieutenants Association members.
