Joseph C. Benigno, age 76, at rest on October 31, 2023. Joseph was a Detective with the Chicago Police Dept for 33 years. Beloved husband of Sharon Benigno for 53 years.  Loving father of John Benigno (CPD Lt.) (Amber Creger)  and Matthew (CPD Detective) (Julie) Benigno. Cherished grandfather of Gabriel Benigno and Maximus Benigno. Dear son of the late John and the late Billie (nee Mathis) Benigno. Fond brother of the late John Benigno and the late Jack Benigno. Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Il. Funeral Monday, Beginning at the funeral home at 10:00 am and will proceed to St. Francis Borgia Church in for 11:00 am Mass. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
