The Lieutenants Association is aware that the Department has yet again, with no notice, decided to arbitrarily cancel Lieutenants’ RDO using reverse seniority for 18/19/20-Mar-22, in Areas Two, Three and Central Control Group if there are not a sufficient number of volunteers for the “Tiered Deployment.” Lieutenants working in the affected Areas in DOGs 65, 66, 61 and 75, 76, 77, who are told they are being involuntarily compelled to work are encouraged to submit a To/From subject report through their chain of command requesting that their RDOs be acknowledged by the Department. If the Lieutenant is still forced to work then a grievance should be filed. The Lieutenants Association and other police unions currently have another pending grievance before an arbitrator with regard to the last time the Department conducted similar actions against Lieutenants Association members.
