Retired CPD Lt. Stanley M. Zaborac age 73 of Gainesville passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, at North Florida Regional Hospital. He was born November 20, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois where he also retired as a Tact Lieutenant with the Chicago Police Department. He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley M. and Mary (Grgurich) Zaborac. His survivors are his loving and devoted wife of 53 years Linda (Hawrysko) Zaborac and their daughters Julie (Husband George, and kids Michael, Samuel, and Andrew) and Jacqueline (husband is Parama and kids are Nitai and Gopika. The funeral mass for Lt. Zaborac will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2024, in the Holy Faith Catholic Church in Gainesville. Interment will follow at Saint Madeleine Catholic Memorial Garden Cemetery in High Springs. Please omit flowers and make a donation to the charity of you choice. Stan worked in several units with some of the best police work I ever witnessed. Beside that he was just an all around great guy. Sad to hear of this.
