The Nolan-O’Neil Academic Scholarship



Description: Four (4) Nolan-O’Neil Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $500 each to assist with defraying educational expenses.

Eligibility: Entries for the scholarships are restricted to the CHILDREN and STEP CHILDREN of ACTIVE members of the PBPA Lieutenant’s Association, Unit 156B in grades Pre-K through 16 (College Seniors, no graduate school students) at the time of the drawing on 10 January 16. Grandchildren, nieces, nephews or other family members of active members are NOT ELIGIBLE to be entered in the drawing.

When: The drawing for the scholarships will take place at the General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, January 10, 2016 at Home Run Inn located at 4254 W. 31st Street at 1800 hours. Winners need not be present.

How: Please bring the completed form to the meeting. If you cannot make the meeting you can email a completed form to us.


Other Info: The Scholarships are funded in part through a generous donation by the Illinois State PBPA. The State PBPA kindly requests that a photograph of your child holding the check and a short description (age, grade of student) be made available for publication in their quarterly newsletter. Your child will be identified as the son or daughter of an Active member of PBPA Unit 156B; their name will not be published without your consent.

In addition, proof of attendance at an accredited educational institution in the form of a written letter on official school letterhead signed by a school representative is required to be submitted to the Treasurer, Robert Stasch Unit 057, and must be tendered by 10 March 16 in order to claim the scholarship check.
