Retired CPD Lt. Richard Sandberg

Richard Sandberg, (80), Retired CPD Lt., formerly assigned to the Chicago Office of the FBI, passed away on March 10, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona, after a brief illness. He leaves behind his adored wife of forty years, Pamela, and his precious rescued canine daughter, Lilly.

Dick proudly served in the US Marine Corps before providing excellent service as a Chicago Police Officer. His thirty-three year career included homicide and internal affairs, attending the FBI National Academy, and concluded after a ten year assignment to the Chicago Office of the FBI as liaison, along with supervising the CPD officers assigned to task force operations.
Additional survivors include three Sprague brother-in-laws, Kent, Monty (Vicki), and Scott (Debbie), and their children. A private Scottsdale funeral Mass is pending along with a summertime Chicago celebration of life.
Little Miss Lilly requests considerations of donations to pawplacement.org or the 100clubchicago.org.
