John Michael Carioscia, 73 (retired CPD Lt.) of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on March 28, 2021. He was born on November 16, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to Michael Carioscia and Mary (nee: Barr) Carioscia. John and his wife Judy were married for 53 years and together they raised 4 wonderful children. John was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School and received numerous certificates from various colleges. He moved to Cape Coral in 2004. He then had a calling to serve his new community and was elected two terms as District 2 City Councilman. In his spare time, he enjoyed baseball, softball, fishing, boating. One of his favorites, was coaching his children’s baseball teams. “He always encouraged us to work hard with late nights at the batting cages and a trip to the “Sugarbowl” afterwards for ice cream.” John was an accomplished trumpet player. His music career started out in a band with his brothers called “The Facts of Life.” Johns most cherished moments were with friends and family on boating trips where he would be the unofficial tour guide. John was always one for a good story and a good laugh. He was also a great cook, with shrimp scampi being his favorite to prepare for family and friends. John would often exclaim, “Fuhgettaboutit” John is survived by his loving family including his wife, Judy Ann Carioscia; daughters, Michelle (Rob) Eberwein of Cape Coral, Gina (Matt Grissom) Carioscia of Crystal Lake, IL; sons, Anthony (Leeanne Arellano) Carioscia of Cape Coral, John (Tiffany Repecki) Carioscia Jr of Cape Coral; grandchildren, Kyle, Kane, Fiona, Sedona, Oliver; brothers, Joe (Patricia) Carioscia, Michael (Doreen) Carioscia; and many friends. Visitation will be on Wednesday April 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Coral Ridge Funeral Home,1630 SW Pine Island Rd, Cape, Coral, FL Private Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday April 8th at Coral Ridge, with a private burial to follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
